Transformation of Industrial Journalism in the Digital Era: Trends and Technologies
Abstract
The goal is to comprehensively analyze the formation of the industrial journalism cluster, assess its current state, and explore the prospects of using digital technologies in media support for the industrial sector.
The research methodology. The study employed general scientific methods of analysis, synthesis, generalization, and systematization of data from theoretical sources and empirical material. The specialized method of content monitoring was used to verify hypothetical claims and conceptual statements by correlating them with specific modes of industrial media resources reflecting digital era trends.
The results. The study identified the state of technological support for the industrial journalism media cluster and verified the impact of data-driven journalism. Specific examples demonstrated the effectiveness of digital tools in data journalism, multimedia formats, and interactive solutions, combined with expert analytics and a focus on societal needs. The importance of digital tracking in the mediatization of industrial issues and the humanization of complex technical and technological topics was highlighted. The analysis of foreign media, such as Industry Europe, Smart Industry, and Industry Week, showcased their use of interactive visualizations and platform-based approaches, which transform traditional media into multifunctional hubs.
The novelty lies in substantiating the digital prospects of Ukrainian industrial multimedia, particularly in the context of «platformization», which redefines industrial publications as multifaceted hubs integrating information, analytics, and industry dialogue.
Practical significance. The findings and conclusions can be applied to optimize the digital operations of media resources focused on industrial topics and specialized industrial multimedia, enhancing their effectiveness in the Ukrainian context, especially during post-war reconstruction.
Key words: industrial journalism, industrial sector, media support, digital technologies, data journalism, industry discourse.
