Structure and Content of the Ukrainian Language Web-Sites from the Editor’s Point of View
Abstract
Research Methodology. The main general scientific methods used in this article are descriptive, comparative, analysis and synthesis. The following empirical methods were also used: continuous selection method (to highlight the most used Ukrainian language web-sites), quantitative content analysis method with qualitative elements (to characterize the structural elements of these web-sites), modeling method (to create a theoretical model of a modern Ukrainian language web-site).
Results. The article identifies the top ten most commonly used Ukrainian language web-sites, which are arranged, characterized by mandatory structural components. Particular attention is paid to the fact that they should be based on reference and information materials from the main sections of the Ukrainian language as a subject. The following types of Ukrainian language web-sites are distinguished by reference and information materials: 1) specialized language web-sites; 2) specialized web-sites dedicated to a specific project in the Ukrainian language; 3) comprehensive web-sites containing both language information materials and language projects.
Novelty. The scientific novelty of the research is that the theoretical model of the modern Ukrainian language web-site was proposed and it was found that the web-site «Language – is the Nation’s DNA» is the most relevant to this model.
Practical implication. The results of the research could be used during web-site planning and development, which are dedicated to the general language issues and Ukrainian language in particular and during academic process.
Key words: web-site of the Ukrainian language, site structure, reference and information materials, blog, simulator.
