The Communication Platforms: Term Identity

Abstract


Research Methodology. During the research the method of analysis of scientific and theoretical sources (theoretical literature), the method of comparison, the hypothetical method (for the development of scientific hypothesis and the definition of the theoretical unit «Communication platform») were implemented.

Results. Social communications today are on the state of exaltation, which necessitates the definition of basic theoretical units and methodological principles that are fundamental to science. It should be emphasized that the term «Communication Platform» is not worth exploring, which is not researched, defined or defined yet. This concept has a large number of related positions, but should not be identified.

The article analyzes related concepts such as: online platform, web platform, computer platform, etc. All of these have their specific differences from the communication platform, which allows us to speak about the separation of the concept.

On communication platforms there is a process of restructuring the communication space, there is a realization of dynamic changes of the communication process through, when information exchange on official platforms is presented mainly at a non-official angle.

This due to the current tendency of critical attitude of the audience to the information coming from traditional media. This trend explains the need search for alternative information sources, which become communication platforms. Now they have the usual forms of rigid power, but at the same time there is a soft power to inform, to commune, to entertain to illuminate.

Novelty. Within the article the vision of the term «Communication platform» and its study as a component of social communications are presented.

The practical significance. The results of the study can be used for further theoretical and practical research in applied social and communication technologies.
