Genres Diffusion in Content of Regional Online Media
Abstract
Research methodology. The basis of the research are the methods of analysis and synthesis - during the processing of scientific sources, the synthesis of the received information; observation and qualitative and quantitative content-monitoring – during work with the empirical base of research, collection of statistical data, its processing and the derivation of the typological classification of hybrid genres in regional online publications.
Results. The phenomenon of genre diffusion in Zaporizhzhya Internet publications is characterized, typical hybrid genres are singled out. Two types of diffusion formations were outlined: intergroup and those undergoing diffuse transformations within a single typological group. It is revealed that the dominant trend is the emergence of informational and analytical genre hybrids. The article emphasizes that the preconditions of such changes may be the same socio-political phenomena that have pushed out of usage of artistic and journalistic genres. The authors point out that modifications of this nature have only positive impact on the overall concept of media content, since they cause the diversification of information, which leads to significant saving of a reader’s time that is the main prerogative of modern online media. Separate attention has been paid to the growth of multimedia and infotainment in the field of regional online media.
Novelty. There were improved journalistic scholarly knowledge on the interrelationship of genres within the existing classifications concerning the interpenetration of three genre groups: informational, analytical and artistic-journalistic. There was expanded the scope of the study of genre diffusion as a phenomenon as a whole and in certain types of media, in particular in the context of regional Internet publications.
The practical significance. The obtained results can be used as a basis for further scientific research on the phenomenon of genre diffusion and the characteristics of the latest genre typological structures that will find practical use in the newsrooms of all-Ukrainian and regional online media.
