A. Tregub

Abstract

Research methodology. In the course of the research, the methods of analysis and synthesis were used to distinguish the group of service-expert programs among television programs broadcast on the Ukrainian national TV channels; observation, generalization, descriptive method and typology are used to identify types and subtypes of service-expert programs and criteria for their distribution.

Results. The current stage in the development of television production in Ukraine is characterized by the emergence of a wide range of service and expert programs, for detailed study of which it is necessary to define their typology. Thus, the analysis of service and expert programs broadcast and produced by the Ukrainian national channels allowed to distinguish certain typological patterns and approaches to their creation. The subject underlying the concept of a service-expert program is characterized by pragmatism, that is, the maximum proximity to the vital needs of the audience. Such programs are mono-thematic and are divided into thematic areas: cooking, medicine and health, family psychology, travel, fashion and style, beauty, service, domestic life, repair and decoration of living quarters. According to the theme various factors are selected, such as the optimal genre form, the number of plot lines in one release of the program, the methods of reflection of reality, the presenter’s image, the type of shooting.

Novelty. In the article the types of service-expert programs, which are presented on the Ukrainian national television, are investigated.

Practical significance. The results of the research can be used in the practice of television production, for further study of the features of service-expert television, and for the development of scientific and methodological materials for educational disciplines in the field of television journalism.

Key words: service-expert programs, television programs, television, typology, thematic directions.
