Abstract
Research methodology. Methods of monitoring, summarizing and analysis of the materials of the Ukrainian editorial office of Radio Liberty, specialized scientific literature and thematic publications on professional websites have been used to determine the genre specificity of texts.
Results. The Ukrainian editorial office of Radio Liberty is one of the main media platforms, which constantly examines extremely important both for society and for the journalistic community problem of placing «dzhynsa» in order to draw maximum attention to it. The presence of hidden political advertising in the Ukrainian media and ways to overcome it are considered in details in the broadcasts of the radio station. To date, as repeatedly noted in the broadcasts of the Ukrainian editorial office of Radio Liberty, by publishing a huge number of «dzhynsa» domestic media brought themselves to bay. The placement of the materials with obvious signs of a political order results in the loss of confidence of the audience, and also poses a great threat to the election of honest, just and responsible government in the state.
Novelty. The contribution of the Ukrainian editorial office of Radio Liberty to the detection of the placement of «dzhynsa» in Ukrainian mass media and counteraction to this phenomenon are summarized. It has been established that the radio station has become one of the few mass media, which attracts independent media experts, sociologists, and political scientists to participate in its broadcasts. This encourages the audience to make their own impartial conclusions not to be subjected to manipulations. In their materials and programs, journalists of the Ukrainian editorial office of Radio Liberty report the facts of publication of «dzhynsa» in both national and local media. This work is also aimed at enabling voters to objectively evaluate the coverage of the election campaign on television, radio, the press, and on the Internet.
The practical significance. Studying the experience of the Ukrainian editorial office of Radio Liberty in unmasking «dzhynsa» in domestic media and finding ways to combat it will help the Ukrainian media community to find effective ways to eliminate this shameful practice.
